A DIFFERENT KIND OF DENIM
Brighter jeans. More possibilities.
White jeans make familiar clothes look different. A navy polo becomes crisper. Brown suede looks richer. A striped rugby gets a clean background. Start with a straight or gently relaxed leg and enough weight to keep the pockets from showing through.
You do not need five new outfits. Keep your favourite shoes and tops; change the denim. These combinations work with bright white or a softer ecru, though the effect is different: white is clearer, ecru warmer.
Already own a pair? Try the navy-and-suede formula before you shop. Fit, opacity and length matter more than the label.

THE STRAIGHT, RELAXED PAIR
Rider Relaxed-fit Straight-leg Jeans — white
COS · A$175
A straight leg with room through the thigh gives a knit polo, rugby or relaxed jacket a balanced foundation. A useful first shape if you want white denim without a skinny silhouette.
Availability: White product page showed Add to Bag and waist/length options from 28/30 to 36/34. Individual size stock was not confirmed.
Fit: Mid-rise, full length. Size AU 32 is listed with a 78.5cm inside leg; compare with your own pair and the length option you select.
Why you might pass: 13oz denim is substantial, not a hot-weather fabric. The selected colour is White, but the retailer’s generic description mentions mid-blue: verify colour 1303189004 in your bag.
Australian price and white product route checked 3 October 2026. Retailer specifies 13oz, relaxed straight leg and machine washing. Check opacity in daylight while keeping tags attached; confirm local delivery and return terms.

01 / THE OUTFIT
Navy. White. Suede.
The easiest place to begin. Navy gives the pale denim a clear outline; brown suede softens the finish. Let the polo skim your waist and end near the waistband rather than halfway down the thigh.
Navy knit polo
Straight white jeans
Brown suede loafers
Optional simple brown belt
Leave the neck open and the hem neat. A small break over the shoe works better here than a tall stack of denim.

02 / THE OUTFIT
Turn up the stripe.
A rich stripe makes white jeans feel more playful. Burgundy and green bring the colour; the white collar connects the top to the trousers. Leave enough room in the denim to balance the heavier shirt.
A bold, contrast-collar rugby
White or ecru straight jeans
Brown leather loafers
The illustrated colour combination is inspiration. The shopping edit includes different stripes and clearly names each one.
Pale-blue Oxford shirt, white jeans and brown loafers. Roll the sleeves once or twice, tuck the shirt if it is long, and keep a simple belt visible. A navy jacket takes it towards lunch or an informal dinner.
04 / Olive on top.
White tee, open olive overshirt, white jeans and a brown shoe. The pale centre makes a continuous line; the overshirt adds depth. Use a shorter layer if a long hem hides too much of the leg.
05 / After dark.
Black knit polo, white jeans and black leather loafers. Keep the denim clean, the top softly fitted and the accessories spare. A black belt repeats the shoe without introducing another colour.
BEFORE YOU KEEP IT
White denim needs a daylight check.
Check the cloth.
Stand in daylight and look at the pockets, seat and upper thigh. Try smooth underwear close to your skin tone. If the pocket bags still show strongly, choose denser denim rather than a smaller size.
Sit, bend, walk.
The waist should stay comfortable and the pockets lie flat. White makes pulling more visible. Start with the rise and thigh fit, then shorten the hem if needed; do not buy a tight pair just to avoid alterations.
White or ecru?
Bright white gives navy and black a sharper contrast. Ecru is warmer with olive, oatmeal and brown. Neither is better: choose the shade that works with the tops you already reach for.
Keeping white jeans looking good
Follow the care label, deal with marks promptly and wash with appropriate light colours. Check whether bleach is permitted rather than assuming it is safe; ecru may be deliberately undyed or tinted. Leave labels attached while deciding on fit and opacity.
