THE QWD FIT NOTE / 01

The five-second jacket check

Before you study every wrinkle, check the five areas that decide whether a jacket looks balanced. Use the comparison as a quick first pass, then move in the garment and read the complete guide below.

Visual fitting guide—not an exact-product review or a Fit Lab wear test. Intended silhouettes and body proportions can justify a different choice.

THE WRITTEN LESSON

What to notice.

  1. 01

    Shoulder

    At the bone

The shoulder line should finish close to your natural shoulder point unless the jacket is deliberately extended.

  2. 02

    Collar

    Lies flush

The jacket collar should stay close to the layer beneath it while you stand naturally.

  3. 03

    Button

    Lies flat

Fasten the stance button: the fronts should meet without pulling or forming a strong X.

  4. 04

    Sleeve

    Shows about 1 cm

With a long-sleeved shirt, a controlled sliver of cuff keeps the sleeve relationship deliberate.

  5. 05

    Length

    Looks balanced

A classic jacket should usually cover most of the seat without making the visible leg line feel abruptly short.
